My (not so good) IN MY WOMB Experience :-(

I had a 3D4D ultrasound at In My Womb in their Makati Branch last October 30, 2010 (Saturday).I availed their Ruby Package for Php 4,000.00.

I set an appointment with Dra. Sheila Illescas early September to make sure that I will be their first patient because I have read in the forums that even though you have scheduled for an appointment in advance, when you come there, it will still be on a ‘first come first serve’ basis.

We arrived there at 2:00pm and advised the staff to just contact us once the doctor has contacted them because according to her, Dra. Sheila usually texts them on what time she will arrive. So, we first strolled around the mall until we received a text message at around 3:30pm saying that the doctor cannot come because her patient was hypertensive and she cannot leave her so just re-schedule her appointment on Tuesday, that’s all. We came all the way from Imus, Cavite just to learn that the procedure cannot be done, so we rushed to the clinic to ask if they have any other doctors. To our surprise, there was another doctor sitting in the clinic who can do the procedure. I was a little upset because we were not informed by the staff who texted us. But I just let it pass.

Finally, we saw our baby. Unfortunately, Dra. Ann Marjorie Ong-Unson cannot take a picture of him because he was covering his face with his left arm and sometimes he was raising his right foot to his right eye. His cord was also covering his eyes. But as parents, we were just so happy seeing our child playing, moving, and tumbling there inside. The doctor checked everything, the size of the head, the weight of our baby, my amniotic fluid, the heart rate, the fingers, the lips, and everything was good and normal…thank God! We were then re-scheduled for a re-scan on November 1, 2010 (Monday) at 2:00pm because our baby was really not cooperative. An hour after we left the clinic, I called them and asked to re-schedule me on the same day at 11:00am, and the staff said it was okay, so I thought it was really okay.

On November 1, 2010, which was a holiday, and the malls were about to open at 12:00nn, we came in Makati at 10:00am. We went to the clinic at 10:45am just to discover that it was still closed. The guard in the building advised us that there was a memo to them that all shops in The Link Building will open at 12:00nn. My husband and I were so upset then. At 11:30am, I called the clinic, luckily, someone was already there. To my surprise, she said that when she checked their appointment book, I was scheduled for a re-scan at 2:00pm; there was a name written at 11:00am schedule however was erased because of the building memo. I lost control of myself and scolded her. I could have been advised regarding the change of schedule since they have my contact number in their file. We came all the way from Cavite just to learn that I was re-scheduled for a later time and that even though I should have been in 11:00am slot, the staff said that they will still prioritize the patients scheduled from 12:00-1:30pm. It was upsetting and frustrating to learn that the administrative staffs of In My Womb are inefficient. If I was not pregnant, it would be fine for me to wait for more hours, but the thing is, I am pregnant! My husband was really mad that he insisted to go to the clinic at 12:00nn no matter what the stupid staff has said. When we came there, they had no choice, but to entertain us. The scan was done, got a clear picture of my baby. And after the procedure, at 1:00pm, there were no other patients waiting.

It’s was really so nice to see our baby, but my overall In My Womb experience wasn’t good at all!
